#Nature Awareness 5/22/2013 - Stingray. The stingray often shows itself as a totem to those who have enhanced "feeling" senses. It is the stingray's natural electrical sensors that alert it to potential dangers, and these electrical awarenesses cross over into metaphysical symbology as well. When the stingray appears it could be a sign that you need to become more aware of your surroundings. The stingray's coloring allows it to safely camouflage itself in the sand on the ocean floor. Are you keeping yourself low and out of sight? When stingray shows up it could indicate a time to keep to yourself and stay out of the lime light. Symbolism: planning and counter-planning, protection, emotional and mental balance, sensory talents, creating fundamental realities, awareness.

#Nature Awareness 5/21/2013 - Moray Eel. Moray eels are not like what most people think. Moray eels are frequently thought of as particularly vicious or ill-tempered animals. In truth, morays hide from humans in crevices and would rather flee than fight. Morays are shy and secretive, and attack humans only in self-defense or mistaken identity. Most attacks stem from disruption of an eel's burrow, to which they do react strongly. Moray's are carnivorous and will hunt prey alone or in cooperation with other species, typically groupers, if they observe a situation develop that looks promising. And, this tendency to hunt with groupers has given them a reputation for keen observation. Symbolism: pure energy, ability to reach great depths, lengthy journeys, transformation, observation.
